Tow Truck for Biograd/ Visit to Drniš and Šibenik
Marking the anniversary of the tragedy on Kornati Islands, when 12 firemen died on 30th August, five of them from the town of Tisno, on 21st August 2009 the Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandić responded to the invitation of Ivan Klarin, head of Tisno municipality, laid a wreath and lit a candle in front of the memorial plaque at the Fire Department Office in Tisno.

Mayor Bandić presented the representatives of the Tisno Volunteer Fire Department a new fire truck for forest fires and open air fires, equipped for technical interventions.

Afterwards, in Biograd, Mayor Bandić met with Mayor Ivan Knez at the city hall and on behalf of the City of Zagreb handed him the keys to a used tow truck, which was agreed during the visit of Biograd delegation to Zagreb.

Two mayors also spoke of the association Mayors for Peace, joined by Mayor Bandić. The certificate of his participation was sent by the Mayor of Hiroshima and the President of the association Tadatoshi Akiba.
The talks in Biograd also comprised possible cooperation strengthening by singing the Friendship Treaty, which should be one of the items of the future sessions of City Assembly.
In the afternoon, Mayor Bandić visited Drniš, and together with Mayor Ante Dželalija toured the permanent exhibition of the works of Ivan Meštrović at the City Museum. Afterwards they visited the Franciscan cloister.
Before that, they attended Bodulska pripetavanja (Islanders’ Barrage) on the island of Kaprije, traditional island games of the Šibenik archipelago.
Mayor Bandić ended Saturday in Šibenik where he attended the 12th Festival of Dalmatian Song – Croatian Chanson Evening, at the invitation of Ante Županović, the Mayor of Šibenik.
